Chemical facial peel is a skin rejuvenation technique that uses chemicals to remove layers of dry skin that may be damaged. Once removed, it gives you a better complexion by removing wrinkles, blemishes, and uneven skin coloring.

Chemicals commonly used are;

a. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA)

b. Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs).

The extent of your skin problem will decide how much chemical mixture will be required for your chemical facial peel. If you are considering a chemical face peel, just remember, it is not a face lift.

Some doctors will use a facial peel at the same time as a face lift but, it is not one nor does it provide the same benefits. All facial peel procedures are temporary in nature and will not reverse the aging skin process.

Things to know

If you decide that you want to have a facial peel, you should know what to expect. Very often, the person who performs the chemical facial peel does not possess any medical degree. Even when you need a very strong chemical peel, no medical degree is required for such procedures.

However, some of the states do regulate the strength of the peel used. When deciding on this procedure, it is wise to choose a provider that you feel has the highest training standards for those administering the chemical facial peel procedure.

You may want to talk to some of the clients who they have completed the procedure on in the past. Remember, this is your face we are talking about!

At your first consultation, be sure to talk to them about every option available. Also be open and honest with them about any questions and feeling you may have.

Before you receive your chemical facial peel, your physician may require you to follow some steps to prepare your skin. You may need to use Retinol A or other cream to get your skin ready. When the peel is being preformed, anesthesia will not be given unless it is just for the purpose of helping you to relax. Speak to your doctor about this. It is not necessary for the face because the chemicals in the peel will anesthetize your skin. The chemicals are applied to the skin and it usually only takes about 10-20 minutes.

Full chemical facial peels may take up to two hours. You may feel a slight sting when the chemicals are applied but, it will pass quickly. After your chemical facial peel is complete, you will not need any other treatment or bandages. To get the effect you want in your skin, you may need to have the procedure completed more than once.

Afterwards

You should not have any problems with returning to work or other activities immediately after the procedure. Your skin may be dry and flaky but, this will soon fade. You will notice subtle changes in your skins appearance at first. With more sessions, your skin will see faster results and improvements.

Remember, it is not a long lasting thing. It is not permanent. You will have to provide protection from the sun as the damage to your face can occur again. Also, the effects of aging are not stopped, only improved with a chemical facial peel.

Does collagen supplements really work for your dry skin? Almost everybody wants to stay looking young for as long as possible. In fact, there is a multi-million dollar industry founded on this desire to look young. However many of the health care treatments that claim to work wonders actually does little. The best way to stay young looking is to eat a healthy diet and make use of the right natural ingredients.

Diet

The problem with modern society is that we all don’t eat a healthy balanced diet, fortunately it is possible to take a variety of supplements to help us stay looking younger for longer.

To re-oxygenate our selves we should increase our water intake and also practice a deep breathing exercise. The sun is very beautiful; however it is also very dangerous to our skin, it is necessary to protect our skin from the suns harmful rays. To protect our selves from these harmful ultraviolet rays, we should cover our selves up with clothing and hats. If you suffer from dry skin you should also get into the habit of applying moisturizing creams daily.

To keep the body flexible and supple you should do yoga or pilates, not only will these improve your flexibility, but they will also be extremely enjoyable.

No matter what we do, we will inevitably find ourselves aging. As we get older, our hair starts to get thinner, wrinkles, freckles and age spots all start to appear. It is impossible to actually prevent the signs of aging because the causes of it are actually unknown. We do know that sunlight exposure increases the rate of aging, and avoiding this completely is impossible as we all know.

Collagen

It is actually a compound that is naturally found in the body and is responsible for the firmness of the skin in young people. Collagen is what makes younger people have tighter, and smoother, glowing skin. When we get older, the collagen levels in our body reduce and this causes our body to start aging. The lack of collagen in our body makes the skin to sag, thinning of the hair, joint pains and numerous other age related diseases.

Collagen injections can be used to enhance the facial appearance, however it should be understood that this is only a temporary cure and more than just one injection will be required.

Instead of repeat injections, collagen is also available in supplement form. Though the injections are temporary and have immediate effect, supplements taken orally have a longer lasting effect but the effects take longer to notice.

Health food stores stock many types of collagen supplements of which Type I and Type II are the most common. These are omni present in our body like in our hair, nails, skin, muscles, eyes, teeth, and tendons. Taking these supplements also help in strengthening our cartilage and bones.

Collagen supplements taken orally are completely painless and the results last much longer. With these supplements we fortify our selves with collagen which slows down the aging process. Consumption of these supplements along with a healthy balanced diet will keep you looking and feeling younger for a longer!

To find a cure for puffy eyes, you have many choices available. Puffy eyes are not hard to see. Take a look in the mirror and they are very pronounced. Before the cure for puffy eyes can be put into place, we must figure out why our eyes are puffy. There are four major areas that may cause puffy eyes.

The first is, of course, allergies. The sneezing and watery eyes associated with the allergies can cause under-eye swelling. Antihistamines may help here.

High blood pressure can cause eyes to become puffy. The rise in blood pressure seems to push fluid into the tissue around the eyes and cause them to appear puffy. Controlling your blood pressure may reduce swelling.

Puffy eyes can run in families and be caused by heredity. Too much alcohol and salt can make you store water everywhere, including you eyes. Take care to watch how much of these you are taking in.

Treatments At Home

At home treatments are a perfect cure for puffy eyes. The most important thing that you can do is to make sure that you have proper hydration. Make sure that you limit your salt and alcohol intake. These things can rob the body of the fluid it needs to make your skin and body the healthiest it can be.

Drink plenty of water each day. When your eyes appear puffy, cool compresses are great. Sliced cucumbers or tea bags on the eyes can work wonders. Wet cotton balls or a cold wash cloth is great too. The cold helps to constrict those blood vessels making eyes look less puffy. You can also use cold compress bags. Just make sure that you protect your eyes by wrapping the bag in a towel.

Products in the beauty section of your favorite store are available. These products are good but, you need to be willing to spend a little money to get a cure for puffy eyes.

Puffy eye creams that include caffeine, cucumber, and yeast will decrease the swelling. Most products that offer a cure for puffy eyes will cost about twenty to forty dollars each. More expensive products exist but can run into the hundreds of dollars. Avoid using humectants moisturizers around the eyes.

These products add moisture to the skin around the eye. They will not help the puffiness but add to it. When choosing the product best for you, make sure that what you pick is specifically designed for the cure of puffy eyes.

Call The Doctor

The most elaborate cure for puffy eyes is surgery. This surgery is called Blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty is a procedure in which a plastic or dermatologic surgeon removes excess skin and fat around your eyes. This will help the swelling in the long run but, two temporary side effects of the surgery can include bruising and swelling. This surgery is a little pricey.

Blepharoplasty runs between two to five thousand dollars. Think carefully before having the procedure done. Considering the cost of each of the possible cure for puffy eyes, cucumbers and tea bags sound pretty good.

If you want to help your dry skin, you need to find ways to remove your dead skin cells and constantly practice a good skin care routine.

Removing your dead skin layer can help to improve your skin appearance. The replacement skin is smoother looking and generally less dry.

There are several ways you can remove your dead skins. Here are some tips you may find helpful.

1) Scrubbing

Use a scrub to get rid of dead skin cells. Using scrub is one of the easiest ways to complement other body care products. It can help to increase your blood circulation and speed your skin layer’s rejuvenation. However, do not use scrub on your face, as it is very rough. Instead, use a proper facial scrub instead.

2) Exfoliation

Another method to remove the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin is exfoliation. Exfoliation provides a fresh and radiant looking skin, and is able to prevent the frequency of unsightly outbreaks as well. Try to exfoliate at least once a week so that the skin has time to recover. After a session of exfoliation, you should apply a rich layer of moisturizer to help protect your skin from any dryness.

3) Aluminum oxide crystals

These crystals are a widely used ingredient in the past to help remove dead skin cells. Known as dermabrasion, this process has been for acne treatment. However, you can safely apply it for removal of dead skin cell as well.

Although the result is instantly visible, your skin may feel irritated after the treatment. A much safer alternative is Vibradermabrasion. This newly introduced technique makes use of the infusion and topical preparations to unsettle your dry skin.

Results have been impressive. If you are interested in this treatment, you have to find a registered dermatologist, as under the FDA guideline, only a certified clinician can implement the procedure. But the good thing is, only a single treatment is required.

4) Hydroxy acids

A very popular method used by many is alpha hydroxy acids. Using natural fruit ingredients, it can quickly eliminate dead skin cells gently without the harshness unlike other manual exfoliants. If you are planning to use alpha hydroxy products, remember to choose those aha products that has more PH value of 3.5 and above. Young children should stay away from AHA as their skin is too delicate to use this treatment.

If you have excessive dry skin, you will understand how disturbing and irritating it can be. There are times during the year whereby you may experience more dryness and itchiness with your skin.

The fortunate thing is, there’s always natural occlusives that you can find to help prevent and control dryness of your skin. Most well known ones will be ingredients like almond, shea butter and avocado oils.

Besides useful in lowering cholesterol and controlling a person’s blood pressure, avocados can help one to combat cancer and control against diabetes.

More superficially, avocado can help to smoother your skin and heals dry skin effectively.

So how do avocado help dry skin?

Dry skin is caused by lack of moisture which leads to the skin being dehydrated. Avocado contains deep moisturizing dominance, which can help to make your dry skin turn out better.

In fact, avocado can be used as a ingredient for your facial treatment. All you need to do is to add a dash of avocado to your face. Before that, mix it with a cup of oats and milk to nourish your face further. Wash it off after about fifteen minutes or so.

Here’s another quick avocado facial mask recipe you can try on you own:

Step 1: Add avocado cubes in a bowl.

Step 2: Spread avocado with 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar

Step 3: Toast a egg white into the bowl.

Step 4: Add in 3 tablespoons of almond oils or olive oils.

Step 5: Mix it up and apply on your face for at least fifteen minutes

Step 6: Rinse off and pat dry.

You can also add cucumber slices to this recipe or add in some almond oils. For a nourishing alternative to almonds oils, try aloe vera or shea butter.

So do avocado help dry skin? I am sure the answer will be a definite yes after you have tried out the above tips.

Donovex (Calcipotrene) is an ointment available through doctors presciption. It’s an effective medication that has been proven to be able stop any skin itch. Have scaly skin patches caused by plaque psoriasis? Then this drug is for you.

If you have psoriasis, you most likely have dry skin as well. This cream contains essential Vitamin D thatcan help repair the epidermis of your dry skin. Psoriasis and dry skin are mostly intertwined and this drug helps both.

If you are disturbed at night because of the itch, it can make you feel better. Compared to steroids creams, this is an alternative that is so much safer to use.

Direction of use

When should you use it? After bathing or washing the skin, apply a layer of the cream onto the affected area. Apply twice a day for the duration of period which your doctor prescribes.

Caution:

Keep to the prescribed amount given by your doctor. Overdose of this treatment can cause skin irritations. Possible worsening of your psoriasis could happen if you are not careful, so always heed your doctor’s advice .

Stop your medication if irritations develop. See your doctor immediately to find out what went wrong. There shouldn’t be any adverse reaction if you are responding well to the treatment. Avoid touching your face when applying this cream. If you accidentally touches it, quickly wash them off immediately.

This cream contains a sticky salve, so wash your hands after each application. Be very careful when you use donovex as it can cause your shirts and bedsheets to be stained. If you have not finish the application, store the remaining cream in room temperature, between 15°C – 25°C, for best results.

Results

At least a month is required with Donovex before visible results can be seen. So, be a bit patient. If your itch still persists, Donovex may not be suitable for you. Book an appointment with your doctor for a change of medication.

As you pass the 30-year-old landmark, dry facial skin can develop. The most visible and that can appear is those dreaded wrinkles. Other like the following can be associated with dry face:

* Your skin becomes rough and dry.
* Cracked skin appears.
* You seem older and have a lifeless appearance
* Skin becomes itchy and so on.

Low humidity during the winter months can cause your skin to dry out. As the uppermost layer of your skin stiffens, the non-oily parts of your skin can become irritated.

In most instances, cracks and fissures in your facial skin will begin appearing, forming confined lines at certain parts of your face. Dry skin symptoms like this can turn into wrinkles if you ignore these early telltale signs.

As your facial skin becomes dry, it may tempt you to wash it a lot. Never do this. Do not try to wash your face habitually with hot water. Doing so may result in facial natural oils present in your skin to go away. Once these oils are gone, your facial condition could deteriorate.

So what can you do if you have extremely dry facial skin?

1. Use a bath oil to replenish oil you have wash off your face.
2. Use dry skin lotions to help improve your facial dryness. A dry skin product like Atopalm helps if you need any recommendations.
3. Use moisturizing lotions such as Xtend-Life day or night cream to remove the scaly look in your skin.
4. Install a humidifier to correct the low humidity level in your house.

Moisturizer

There are four main types of moisturizer:

Ointments

Creams

Oils

Lotions.

Ointment Moisturizers

Ointments are the thickest of the all the moisturizers. They are more commonly used to protect the skin after cleansing. It is considered one of the most effective cleanser moisturizer treatment method. Other ingredients such hydrocortisone, lanolin, zinc and thimerosal are also typically found in ointment moisturizers to relieve skin itching. Natural ingredients are also used in ointments and these substances include:

Cocoa butter

Shea butter

and various vitamins, including A and E

Cream Moisturizers

Creams are thicker than lotions and stay on the skin longer. They make nice cleansers for dry skin because they rub on smoothly and feel soothing.Look for cream moisturizer that is water soluble. This is important because when you do the laundry, you want any skin cream that has gotten on your clothes or sheets to be able wash out easily.

Lotion Moisturizers

Lotion moisturizers are widely used as a dry skin cleanser moisturizer treatment method. They feel good on the skin and provides a good consistency for a cleansing moisturizer. They are also non greasy unlike ointment.

Oil Moisturizers and Cleansers

Types of oils:

Essential oils

Evening Primose Oil

Jojoba

Olive

Avocado Oils

Coconut Oils

Of the essential oils, geranium is often named as one of the safest and most nourishing to dry skin. It is important to take note not to use essential oils in their neat (or undiluted) form. They can cause irritation of their own.

With so many different dry skin diseases, it is no wonder that there are also several different symptoms that are typically common. In order to really decipher what skin condition you have, it is necessary to first determine what you have by looking at some of the symptoms that exist.

Psoriasis

Some of the symptoms of psoriasis include a skin rash that is sometimes very painful. Other symptoms include silvery scales that develop because the life cycle of the skin cells is greatly reduced. There are also symptoms that include red plaques, which is also called red scales and are sometimes very painful. Other symptoms of psoriasis include restricted join motion, and even split or thickened nails.

Eczema

Another dry skin disease that is quite common is eczema. The symptoms of eczema include rashes, as well as cracked skin. Many who suffer also report having itchy and inflamed skin as well. Other common symptoms also include skin swelling, cracking and redness. Some also suffer from hives as well as lichenification (or leathering) of the skin.

Dermatitis

The last dry skin disease we will cover is contact dermatitis. Symptoms of this disease include red, dry skin. Many people also have problems with skin rashes as well as blisters, and cracked skin. As you can imagine all of these dry skin diseases can cause problems for people in terms of their daily routine and lifestyle.

With the number of disorders and diseases that are focused around dry skin it seems as if a small pharmacy is needed in order to handle the problems that dry skin can create. With all of the hassles from rashes, red skin and cracks dry skin diseases cause huge amounts of discomfort for most people.

Make sure you treat your skin right and keep plenty of moisturizer on hand to make sure your skin stays as soft and supple as possible. With some great moisturizer, you can find a great amount of relief. The exact moisturizer that works best for your needs will depend upon exactly which dry skin disease you have. If your dry skin problems are very severe, you will need a much stronger moisturizer. If your dry skin problems are mild, then a milder moisturizer will handle your needs.

You only get one skin, take good care of it with a great moisturizer to help reduce the awful symptoms associated with dry skin problems. With so many other discomforts in life, you simply should not suffer any longer than necessary. Feel comfortable in your skin and get symptoms under control once and for all.
