Yes, it is lip balm. yes, they ARE a good company overall. But THIS lip balm contains carmine. It is a colorant that gives it that red color. Many people are HIGHLY allergic to it. Carmine is made from beetle bottoms. Yes, the tushies of beetles, dried and crushed. I got it as a gift after surgery. My lips were a mess after the operation so my mom got it at the gift shop. My lips swelled up like OctoMom's, NOT fun. They also HURT. Even with all the pain meds from the operation. Just do NOT try the Burt’s Bees with the red cap.
