Dry Skin Rashes

Remember baby's nappy rash? This is also a form of dry skin rashes. And yes, even when we are babies, we already have these rashes as well! (Baby's nappy rash or nappy's rash refers to a red rash, or sore area, that affects skin under or around a baby's nappy (diaper))

So what's these skin rashes all about and why do they keep appearing? Is it contagious? How do you get it?

Well, let me first give you a simple description of what's a dry skin rash and then explain to you how these rashes start to come about....

Rashes usually refers to the growth of some red bumps on your skin caused by irritation to the skin. It can be anywhere in your body, but usually it occurs more at the ankle and hands areas. And no, it's non- contagious unlike chicken pox.

As an after-effect of rashes, skin may become swollen, itchy and bumpy, something that everybody would want to get rid of ― real fast!

Causes of Skin Rashes

Several reasons behind the development of these dry skin rashes could be due to factors such as

1. living condition,

2. skin allergies

3. infection to certain materials,

or growth of fungus on your skin.

If you belong to the category of those having dry skin type, there's usually a slightly bigger chances of developing skin rashes. This is because being dry, the skin becomes easily irritated, especially during the cold, winter months of the year.

Managing Skin Rashes

Here's some practical tips for you if you are facing that itchy skin rash now.

1.Drinking sufficient water each day.

2. Apply adequate amount of moisturizer.

3. Maintaining proper diet and nutrition.

4. Remember, don't scratch the skin!

Some dry skin type of rashes are however, hereditary.

For dry skin hereditary type of rashes, the skin usually becomes extremely itchy and inflamed, causing redness, cracking and scaling. This type of rashes comes and goes, often for no obvious reason.

Honestly, scratching your skin rashes tend to only make things worse. Just be patient and treat them accordingly. If your condition got worse, you may need to seek a physician for prescription medicine to control your dry skin rashes.
