Rosacea Laser Treatments

Know more about rosacea laser treatments.

Laser Treatments for Rosacea

Rosacea is quite a complicated skin disease. The good news is, there are a number of people reporting success when using rosacea laser treatments.

There are no oral drugs that have the desired effect for patients suffering with Rosacea. With advancement in modern medicine, there are more and more treatments available for Rosacea sufferers.

Laser treatment is commonly used in Rosacea which is caused by teleangiectasie. The lasers work by reducing and healing any of the dilated blood vessels. The skin thickens in rosacea sufferers, the rosacea laser treatments work by reducing this thickness and removing many of the red bumps and lumps. A pulse dye laser is used in the therapy of Rosacea this is a single wavelength laser with very good accuracy to cure Rosacea. This rosacea laser treatment is very successful.

The laser therapy cures the noticeable damage and destruction. To get the best effects the laser treatment lasts for around 30-45 minutes per session. The procedure should be repeated about every 4 to 5 weeks. These therapies may cause pain, itching, redness or inflammation of the skin which can last for quite some time.

Possible Side Effects

Despite not being able to reduce the excessive tissues, laser treatment is the most preferable treatment as it doesn’t cause any scars. Side effects of laser treatment are the occurrence of hyper pigmentation which can be quite painful as it gives the patient stinging feeling.

Dermabrasion is the process of removing of superficial dead skin cells and allowing for the growth of fresh skin cells. This dermabrasion is done using chemical compounds although it provides fresher and smoother skin, it is rarely implemented as it always causes redness and inflammation of the skin for a couple of weeks afterwards.

For more severe cases of Roseca plastic surgery can be considered. This plastic surgery can be conducted under local anesthetic. Through Rhinoplastia, surgeons restructure the nose and reduce red bumps. Traditionally, plastic surgery was used to remove excessive tissues. It does however possess a high risk of infection and can cause head aches, scars, and inflammation to the patient undergoing the surgery.

Alternative Methods

Another method of treatment is the knife electric technique. This is where a wire is introduced under the skin which produces electric impulse. These impulses help in reducing the skin thickening.

Advantages of this technique are that there is no bleeding as it dries off the pore of the blood vessel. And so this technique is much more desirable to the traditional surgery as there are no scars, and very little pain. Recovery time when using this solution is around two weeks.

Lasers like Vascular Lasers are used to burn off excessive tissues from deep within the skin. The surgeons performing this treatment use Argon, CO2 or YAT lasers for this therapy because these lasers are able to penetrate deep into the skin.

Despite the side effects like inflammation, burning sensation and pain, laser treatment is suggested rather than plastic surgery. Rosacea laser treatments are a very real possibility to help relieve the symptoms of your disease.
