Soap And Cleansers

Given the choice of soap and cleansers, which one would you choose to lather on your dry skin? This article explains the benefits of using a cleanser compared to a traditional soap, and how to select the right cleanser.

If your skin is already severely dry ― avoid frequent washing.

Try to use an appropriate oil-based cosmetic cleanser instead of a soap, which has a drying effect.

Pad cleansers, for instance, are thick wads of absorbent material and are good for touchups throughout the day. Like many other skin care products, dry skin cleansers too come in a variety of forms, including creams, lotions, milk, gels and liquids. Find one that suits you best.

It doesn't matter which preparation you choose for a skin cleansers - all are a mixture of oil, wax and water, which are specially formulated to suit different skin types, including dry skin.

  • Use only non-detergent, neutral-pH products to cleanse your skin.

  • Choose mild, vegetable-based solid cleansers for dry skin to help cleanse without further robbing the skin of its natural oils.

  • Apply one that is rich in conditioners to help pamper and soften your skin, leaving it looking irresistibly silky-smooth, while gently loosening, lifting, and then buffing away dirt and dead skin cells that clog pores.

  • Preparations should include a photoactive base to complement cleansing and stimulate microcirculation.

Just try out using a cleanser first. Don't abandon your soap yet. Make sure your cleanser deep cleanses your skin. It should dissolves oil - you can feel it working - without over-drying your skin.

When buying soap and cleansers products, go for those antibacterial products type as these tend to suit dry skin better. Once you feel that the cleansers is doing the job well, you can start phrasing your soap out slowly.
